A new seminar has been organised by Warrington Certification to provide guidance to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order for private and public sector organisations.
This event came about after it was revealed that 44% of all buildings inspected by the Fire and Rescue Service are ‘unsatisfactory’ in one or more aspect of their fire safety provision.
The event, taking place on 12th October at One Queen Ann’s Gate, Westminster, will examine some of the issues relating to compliance with fire safety requirements under the Reform Order.
It will cover subjects including fire safety, government policy on conformity assessment and the benefits of third party certification in assisting with compliance. It will also offer practical solutions on identifying and managing fire safety issues.
The latest Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) figures showed that 46% of public buildings, 42% of care homes, 42% of schools and 37% of hospitals were found to be ‘unsatisfactory’ when inspected.
Four schools were deemed so dangerous to the staff and pupils that the FRS served a prohibition notice, closing part or the whole of the school building.
This half day seminar is designed to appeal to health and safety, fire safety and procurement professionals who work in the social housing, local authority, NHS, care home, school, university and public sectors who have a responsibility for fire safety provision within complex or large buildings.
