Driving performance and efficiency in any organisation that relies upon complex mission-critical ICT infrastructure is a major challenge. It requires multi-skilled professionals who need to understand ‘the data center’ from an organisation’s many viewpoints, and who are adept at cross-discipline collaboration in order to drive effective results.

DatacenterDynamics (DCD) Converged London 2014 Conference and Expo brings together the people, processes, and technologies to help delegates develop world-class data center strategies. The multi-track conference programme, headlined by a host of international experts, looks at what’s new in the industry, and debates what should change. From the idea of “disposable data centers” to “software defined” and everything in between, DCD Converged London 2014 will keep senior national and international data center professionals up to speed with an industry changing at lightning speed.

New expanded conference format and content for 2014

Delegates will benefit from DCD Converged London’s new conference format incorporating four dedicated 2-full-day tracks covering the following themes:

· Design + Strategy – Focusing on the issues faced by senior managers responsible for the organisational strategy and design of in-house data center assets

· IT + Networks – Linking business strategy to technology adoption and looking at how advances in IT and Network technology affect how we build and connect data centers of the future

· App to Cloud – Tackling the issues faced by professionals with blended or hybrid infrastructures and the technical challenges of moving to third party platforms for the delivery of critical applications and ICT services

· Environment – Helping professionals who manage the performance, efficiency and resilience of a data center’s physical infrastructure, also known as the critical environment

In addition, delegates can debate the latest technology trends in interactive seminar rooms and engage in a peer exchange of best practice in an informal environment. Finally, there will be 3 solution stages to learn about the latest innovations in products and services delivered in rapid-fire 15 minute presentations.

In all there will be up to 12 concurrent learning opportunities for the 3000 plus delegates expected to attend.

Mission Critical Security Summit

For 2014 DCD Converged London will also be co-located with a new 2-day conference, the “Mission Critical Security Summit”. This dedicated event has been designed to bring together key security strategists to drive the interaction and collaboration required to deliver the step-change now necessary in securing mission critical ICT systems. Speakers will equip attendees with an in-depth understanding of the dynamic security landscape, and the practical insights and guidance to develop a unified and smart security strategy, which enables both security and efficiency in the modern data center.

Open Compute Project and the changing role of the CIO

During the course of the two full days of learning and information gathering Cole Crawford, executive director of the Open Compute Project Foundation will set out a vision of current and future technology advances under the Open Compute Project. Cole will be detailing the pace of innovation and how new use cases and applications are being tested in public.

Also joining the international speaker line up is Jonathan Koomey, research fellow at the Stanford University who will examine how CIOs are slowly moving from being keepers of systems to becoming brokers of information services, requiring them to understand the options for delivering information services at the lowest cost.
