Free webinar for all electrical contractors
With just one year to go until the introduction of the 18th Edition NICEC and ELECSA will be giving contractors a preview of what to expect in the latest edition of its live webinar – The Wire!

Industry experts Darren Staniforth and Alan Wells will be discussing the proposals and urging contractors to have their say on the draft for public comment – which is out now until August 23. They will also be providing an overview of the latest industry news and answering any questions contractors might have.

The next edition of The Wire will be broadcast live on Thursday 6 July at 9am – 10am. The event is free for all electrical contractors. To sign up please go to the niceic.com website or click on the link here http://www.niceic.com/contractor/essentials/events/the-wire/thewirejuly2017

The new standard is expected to be available on or around July 1, 2018 with electrical contractors and electricians given a six month transition period to get up to speed with the changes.

From January 1 2019, it will then be a requirement that all electrical installations designed after this date comply with BS 7671:2018, 18th Edition (2018).
Alan Wells, Technical; Standards Director at Certsure, which operates the NICEIC and ELECSA brands commented: “It is still early days, and with the draft document now out for public consultation, anything could change between now and the expected publication date.

“However, once it is launched it is important that electricians are able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the updated regulations.
“NICEIC and ELECSA will be at the forefront of delivering all the information contractors need and the webinar is an example of that.
“We hope as many people as possible tune in for a quick and convenient way to refresh their knowledge for free  – at home, in the office or while out on site.”
