It has been announced that Pilz, together with TÜV NORD, will be offering a new international training programme CMSE (Certified Machinery Safety Expert) from February this year.

Increased demands due to changes in legislation, the rising level of automation and demanding technologies all need intelligent safety strategies that can be implemented internationally. Therefore, it is necessary for companies to ensure that their relevant personnel have the knowledge required to make informed decisions on machinery safety.

CMSE has been specifically developed by Pilz to provide the market with an expert level training on an international basis. The course is certified by TÜV NORD, enabling those who complete the training to prove their competence through an internationally recognised qualification with independent certification.

The course is primarily aimed at design engineers, project engineers, safety engineers and development engineers from the field of automation technology as well as maintenance engineers and industrial engineers.

Divided into 5 modules, topics include:

• Safety Legislation
• Machinery Standards and Regulations
• Risk Assessment
• Occupational Health and Safety
• Safety Systems and Electrical Safety
• Functional Safety: Safety Control, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems

Courses will run at Pilz head office in Corby and are currently scheduled for the following dates in 2013:
