Five Cressall Resistors employees have successfully completed their ICT APEE apprenticeship. As part of its dedication to continuing professional growth and development, Leicester based power resistor manufacturer Cressall, offered its employees the opportunity to enrol on the course and supported them throughout their studies.
Irfan Razaq, Helen Marston, Steven Lowers, Mike Gooch and Simon Marston graduated in June 2015 after studying ICT for 18 months. The training took place at Cressall Resistors’ main site in Leicester and was delivered by Leicester College.
The completion of the qualification has allowed participating Cressall employees to develop their general IT skills and become more creative and efficient when using the company’s IT assets.
“Cressall was supportive throughout our studies,” commented Irfan Razaq, Cressall engineer and APEE apprentice. “We had regular contact with the management team, who were very understanding whenever we encountered any issues. I think we’ve all benefitted both personally and professionally from the course.”
“It is important for Cressall to begin bridging the gap between traditional engineering expertise and IT skills,” explained David Moore, operations manager of Cressall Resistors. “We want to encourage the next generation of engineers to value the importance of IT skills, which is why we suggested this qualification in particular. The graduates are already seeing the benefits of the course and have been sharing their knowledge with more senior members of the team.”
Because of the success of the qualification, Cressall Resistors is currently looking to enrol another set of employees in the near future.
