Legrand has seen a wide selection of products from its wiring device division specified and installed in five new Advanced Learning Centres (ALCs) in and around Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

Amongst the products selected for the project were Synergy white, grid and metal clad switches and sockets, Tenby rapid earth clamps, Hypra and Tempra sockets and plugs.

Legrand won the specification after a competitive tender process, which saw the company highlight the quality and breadth of its product range; the level of technical support and expertise offered to contractors; and the steps it is taking towards delivering a wholly sustainable operation in the UK.

Caroline Boden, marketing manager for Legrand’s wiring device division, said: “This kind of specification is an ideal way to highlight the benefits of dealing with Legrand as we have the product scope and quality to ensure we deliver complete solutions for even the most complex of projects.”

The Building Schools for the Future project has seen Barnsley replace its entire secondary school estate with nine new build ALCs, one new special school and the substantial replacement of another.

Legrand’s products were specified for all five ALCs in Phase 1 of the development – The Dearne ALC, Kirk Balk Community College, Darton College, Penistone Grammar ALC and Carlton Community College – all of which were completed and handed over during 2011. Additionally, Legrand secured the order for Phase 2 of the project, covering Springwell Community School, Greenacre School and Shafton ALC. To find out more visit www.barnsleylep.co.uk.
