Martindale Electric has recently introduced its new Metrohm E1612 handheld and portable earth resistance tester. The unit is microprocessor controlled, includes advanced safety features, and its integral LCD screen shows both test options and results.
The E1612 comes with batteries and is supplied in a kit with four spikes and connecting cables, all enclosed in a durable carry case. Also included is an instruction book showing how to carry out earth testing with two and three spikes and how to measure soil resistivity using four spikes.
The E1612 measures 250 (L) x 190 (W)mm and weighs less than 1.5kg complete with batteries, making it well suited for use in the field. The tester also conforms to BS EN 610-10-1 CAT IV 300V.
