On 29th March 2017, ebm-papst UK Ltd, hosted their first seminar for 2017 at their client centre in Chelmsford. The seminar was aimed at Data centre providers, Facilities managers, M&E contractors, energy managers, end users, sustainability consultants and others involved in the data centre industry.

ebm-papst welcomed six key speakers from industry experts, service providers and data centre operators to discuss current trends in data centre design & energy efficiency.

The specialist speakers included:

Mark Acton from CBRE data centre solutions who discussed data centre efficiency & sustainability, he was followed by Steve Webb from Ark data centres who discussed the Ark experience and how they ensure efficient data centre cooling. The morning session was closed off by Natascha Meyer from Stulz, who intrigued seminar attendees with their recommendations on saving energy on data centre cooling.

During a brief break, Tony Wright from ebm-past hosted a demonstration of the AxiBlade, the revolutionary new fan concept impressed with its new records in terms of efficiency and noise performance.

The afternoon session commenced with a discussion on ‘Why airflow is critical in data centres’, hosted James Kirkwood from Ekkosense and Dr Robert Tozer from Operational Intelligence, a well-known expert in data centre cooling, followed with a case study discussion on energy savings in data centres.

The seminar ended with Prof. Ian Bitterlin from Critical Facilities Consulting, who discussed many issues within the industry and the best way to resolve and avoid them.

The buffet lunch and networking opportunity which followed assured further discussions on the days topics, and ebm-papst were met with great praise for the organisation of such a great event.
