Setting new standards for failsafe conduit fittings

Apr 20, 2012 | Cables and Accessories

To increase the performance capabilities from a single component, Adaptaflex has introduced its new Adaptalok ATS. Fast to fit and easy to remove using the Adaptalok removal tool, Adaptalok ATS meets all IP requirements and specifications in a one piece fitting.

The single piece fitting means that installation times are reduced and there is no risk of losing component parts, which might compromise a conduit system’s sealing and integrity.

As the conduit seal and face washer are an integral part of the fitting, the IP68 (4 bar) ratings can be achieved by a simple ‘push and twist – pull’ installation process which requires no tools. Adaptalok ATS fittings are available in sizes from 13mm to 54mm and in straight, 90° elbow and 45° elbow formats, with fixed or swivel nylon or metal thread options.

Typical applications include those within the rail industry where Adaptalok ATS can be used on rail vehicles, bogies and for trackside applications. As well as providing cable protection, the Adaptalok ATS system exceeds the requirements of long life vibration testing required for rail standards.

For marine applications, Adaptalok ATS also has Lloyd’s Register Marine Type Approval across the range. When used for the enclosure and protection of critical power and data cabling and fibre optics, the flexible conduit systems are covered for use in marine, offshore and general applications under the Lloyd’s listing for electrical equipment enclosure systems, Part 1B, Certificate number 95/00092(E4).

The range has full low fire hazard capability, so is suitable for a wide range of uses on workboats, ships, yachts, general marine, dockyard and offshore installations.
